Burgundy-Franche-Comté merger: Dole ideally located

Dole has many assets to become the central hub of the new Greater Burgundy / Franche-Comté region. This is at least the thesis defended by the geographer Robert Chapuis (author of the book Bourgogne / Franche Comté: Sister or rivals? - edition of Harmattan).
Today, Dole is halfway between Besançon and Dijon, a half-hour train from the two former capitals, at the rate of a train every hour or so; a motorway also connects Dole with the two capitals. In addition, Dole has a real airport very accessible at Tavaux.
